NoirFriendly publishes good experiences in the words of the people who had them. A person reads every recommendation before it appears. This is what we look for, and what we cannot publish.
What a recommendation is
A recommendation describes a visit to one business where you felt welcomed and treated with dignity: what happened, what you liked, and what you would tell a friend to try. Short is good. We publish what you wrote as you wrote it. We never edit or rewrite a member's words; if something cannot be published, we tell you why and you can change it yourself.
What we cannot publish
- A person's full name. A staff member's first name is welcome.
- A private matter, about you or anyone else, such as health, family, or money.
- Something that is not about a visit to this business.
- A recommendation from an owner, employee, or relative of the business.
- A recommendation that was asked for in exchange for anything: a discount, a gift, a free item, or an entry into a drawing.
- Links, phone numbers, or email addresses.
- Hateful or demeaning language about any group.
Photos
Photos should show the business, what you had, or what you liked. Please avoid photos in which other customers can be recognized. Up to four photos per recommendation.
No ratings, and no rewards
We do not publish stars, scores, or averages, and we never reward anyone for writing a recommendation. A business may not offer anything in return for one. Recommendations gathered that way are removed, and the business can lose its recognition.
If something went wrong
A bad experience does not belong in a recommendation. Tell us privately instead. Concerns are never published.
Reporting a published recommendation
If you think a published recommendation breaks these rules, write to hello at noirfriendly.com with a link to it. A person reads every message.
