Terms of use

These terms govern your use of noirfriendly.com and the services NoirFriendly provides. By creating an account or sharing a recommendation, you agree to them.

1. Who may use NoirFriendly

You must be at least 16 years old. You may hold one account. If you own, work for, or are related to someone who owns a business, you may not recommend that business.

2. Your recommendations

You keep ownership of what you write and the photos you upload. You give NoirFriendly permission to display them on the site, in guides, in share cards, and in printed materials that promote a recognized business.

Every recommendation is read by a person before it appears. We may decline to publish a recommendation and will tell you why.

3. Private concerns

Concerns you send through the private form are confidential. We do not publish them and do not share them with a business in a form that identifies you.

4. Recognition

Recognition is granted at NoirFriendly's discretion based on community recommendations. It is free, non-transferable, and may be withdrawn as described in the Recognition policy.

5. Account closure

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. Approved recommendations remain published under a display name of “Former member” unless you ask us to remove them.

6. Location

If you tap Find where I am, your browser asks your permission and we read your location once to list nearby businesses. We do not store the coordinates and do not share them. We keep only a yes or no record that a recommendation was written at the business (“visit confirmed”). You can decline location at any time and use search instead; nothing about your account changes. Location check-ins never count toward a business's recognition.

7. Changes

When these terms change, we will show the effective date at the top of this page and email members who have an account.
